{Homemade Savory Biscuits}

A few weeks ago ,I was scouring one of my favorite blogs.... {Pretty Providence} and couldn't wait to try out these biscuits that Jessica ( Hi, sweetie!) was raving about!  I decided to add a little bit of a savory twist to it.  They taste soo similar to Red Lobsters Biscuits but not as fattening.  They still aren't exactly the healthiest biscuit---but what carb is? :)   They are about 6+ weight watchers points.  If you make them without the cheese and keep them as a plain biscuit they are only 4+ points.  Not too bad-- and definitely 4 points worthy!

Homemade Biscuits
adapted from : All Recipes
Weight Watchers: 4+ points
2 cups of all purpose flour
2 tablespoons of white sugar
4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup light butter
1 egg
2/3 cup

Optional additional ingredients:
Weight Watchers: 6+ points
1/2 cup cheddar cheese
1 tsp. minced garlic
1 tsp. light butter
Parsley

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, cream of tartar, and salt into a bowl.  Chop light butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs. Whisk egg and milk together in a separate bowl and slowly add milk mixture to flour mixture, stirring as you pour, until dough is moistened and well-mixed. Add cheddar cheese and 1/2 tsp. of minced garlic.  Drop dough by a spoonfulls and baking for about 10 minutes.

{Homemade By You #55}

Well, I had great intentions of getting a few posts up this past week, but I was busy...again!  This time however, it was a very good busy!  My sister Courtney, who recently got married and moved to Georgia,  came home and surprised us all!!! :)  Nothing is sweeter than opening a knock at your door to find your sister standing there!  She came up for my sister, Ashleas high school graduation.  So for the few days my sister was home, I was busy spending time with her and watching her play with my kiddos :)

I promise...I do have a post ready for Thursday :)  It may just have something to do with a DIY Red Lobster like biscuit! Yumm!

Fruity Rice Krispie Treats

One of my favorite childhood munchies is Rice Krispie Treats. My grandma ( we call her Grakky-- I couldn't say Grandma when I was little...I pronounced it Grakky and it has stuck with every grandchild and even people who aren't her grandchildren--haha!) Anyway, my grandma makes them quite a bit for different family holidays.  I remember plenty of Christmas Eve dinners ending with a big ole rice krispie! :)  Tonight, my son Jacob and I made some treats but instead of regular rice krispies we decided to add a little pizazz and used Fruity Pebbles!  These are super yummy!

Fruity Rice Krispie Treats
Weight Watchers Points: 4+

2 Tbsp. light butter
10 oz. marshmallows
6 cups of fruity pebbles rice krispies

Heat a large saucepan on low heat. Melt butter spread being sure to coat the bottom of the pot to prevent sticking. Add marshmallows and melt on low flame. Stir until completely melted, then remove from heat.

Add Rice Krispies to the melted marshmallows, and stir until completely combined.  Press into a greased  9x12-inch pan covered with cooking spray

Servings: 12.

{Homemade By You #52}

Well, Hello!  Welcome to {Homemade By You} I am so excited to have you here!  The party is up and running a little early this week...Im hoping to have my parties come early from now on.  Life has been a little crazy with Jacobs surgery and all.  Today, Jacob got his stitches out.....It was another big ordeal.  He was scared and screaming and I was wanting to punch someone in the face and take his place! HAHA!  The worst is finally behind us though.....Up next is my son's Carters surgery.....thankfully that won't be for close to another year!

Just in case you missed out, on Monday I shared a yummy Whole Wheat Blueberry Muffins recipe!  Definetly worth adding to your recipe box.
