Graduation Cap Rolo Favors: a simple favor idea for your graduate’s party.

I can’t believe that graduation season is just around the corner. Graduation is such an exciting time in your child’s life, whether they are a college student, a senior in high school, or a little one moving on up to Kindergarten or another grade in elementary school. It’s always fun to celebrate our graduates with a party or gathering.

These cute and simple graduation caps are the perfect favors to go with the party food and decor. Use them to decorate your space, place one at each place setting for family members and friends, or put them in a bowl to grab on the way out the door. They’re a sweet and simple treat everyone will love. See how I made them below.

Supplies for your Graduation Party Favors:

Creating these adorable graduation favors is very simple. All you need are some delicious caramel Rolos and some other cheap supplies.

  • ROLOs
  • Black Construction Paper
  • Ribbon (Match to your school colors if you wish)
  • Hot Glue Gun

If your child’s school has graduation caps they are using, replicate the Rolos off of them. The construction paper can be any color you choose. If your school colors are orange and black. Make the construction paper orange and the ribbon red. Get creative with how you customize your graduation caps. Make them your own!

What is a Rolo?

If you have never indulged in a delicious Rolo, you must! A roll is a small piece of milk chocolate with a gooey caramel center. Think peanut butter cup but without the peanut butter. It has the perfect chewy texture. It was always one of my favorites growing up!

Directions to Make the Graduation Cap Favors:

  1. First, cut your black construction paper into small squares.
  2. Glue the squares to the top of the Rolo.
  3. Glue a small piece of ribbon to the top of your square. Make sure you have the ribbon run down through the corner of the black square.
  4. To make the ball at the top of the cap, I just used a Rolo candy wrapper rolled tightly.

What to Give for a Graduation Party

While it isn’t necessary to give out party favors at graduation parties, it always makes things more fun. These Rolo Caps make cute decor for the party. Instead of throwing away the decor at the end, guests take them home to enjoy and you have less to clean up. Just set a few out on the party table to add some color. It’s the perfect way to decorate AND have a yummy treat your guests can munch on.

These Graduation Cap Rolos also make cute toppers for gift wrap and gift cards. If you are the one giving the graduation gift, add a fancy rolo cap to the top to celebrate the grad!

If you are making cupcakes, these also make simple and adorable graduation cap cupcake toppers. Follow the same instructions to create the caps and place them on top of store-bought or homemade cupcakes to serve at your gatherings as graduation treats.

Gifts for Teachers

Use these Graduation Cap Rolo Favors as a sweet gift to teachers as the kids leave the classroom and transition to another. Elementary teachers and all educators will enjoy this thoughtful gift. Add a handwritten thank you card or farewell card and it’s the perfect ending to another school year. If you know the teacher’s favorite drink, send the Rolo taped to the top of the drink.
