About Katie – Made To Be A Momma

Meet Katie Wyllie
Welcome! I’m Katie. I am a wife, mommy, author and creator. I started my site Made to be a Momma in the spring of 2013. Growing up, I never really had a grasp on what career I wanted to pursue. Up until my senior year in high school I struggled with feeling as though I had no special talent or career desires. I was good at crafting/sewing and loved to bake and cook in the kitchen. The one thing that I always knew I wanted to be was a wife and a mother. I honestly couldn’t picture myself doing anything else! I got married two years after I graduated high school to the love of my life, Bryan. Two short years later we welcomed our sweet first baby boy, Jacob, into the world. I knew from the moment I held my first born in my arms that THIS was what God had in store for me. I was made to be a momma! Those feelings only grew stronger as a few years later we welcomed our second son, Carter and more recently our little daughter, Addyson.
Being a wife and mother is what fuels my day, brings joy into my soul and in a sense makes life worth living. Here at Made to be a Momma we strive to celebrate all things homemaking such as crafting, recipes activities that keeps the little ones busy and some simple home decor ideas. I hope to inspire you and let you know that you are not alone in the crazy and blessed calling of motherhood.

Katie’s Motto?
There’s no such thing as too many craft supplies.
Things Katie Loves
Because every great maker has their go-to tools, favorite snacks, and guilty pleasures…
- Favorite Crafting Tool: Cricut (though her glue gun might get jealous)
- Material She Can’t Resist Buying (Even When She Doesn’t Need It): Pretty patterned paper
- Go-To Creative Snack: Gummy bears—crafting is better with sugar
- Most Likely to Be Found Wearing: A cozy cardigan covered in thread and mystery glitter
- Playlist While Crafting: A mix of indie folk, 90s throwbacks, and true crime podcasts
- Craft She Keeps Coming Back To: Paper crafts—simple, satisfying, and full of charm
- Secret Obsession: Organizing her craft room more than she actually crafts (it’s a vibe)
- Dream Project: Turning her workshop ideas into a full-on crafty retreat weekend
- Words She Lives By: “Done is better than perfect… especially when it’s handmade.”
