Embroidery Hoop Ornaments
It’s that time of year where my kids and I start to make Christmas ornaments! Christmas is barely two months away which means it will be time to start decorating soon! Many people don’t start decorating until after Thanksgiving, but I tend to decorate right before Thanksgiving.
These Embroidery Hoop Ornaments are perfect for holiday season because it reminds me of farmhouse Christmas decor which is very on-trend right now, just like our popular Clay Farmhouse Ornaments. Many of you are looking for modern Christmas crafts to make that look great not only on your tree but in your house as well! If you’re looking for a rustic yet classy Christmas craft, keep reading!
Supplies to Make Embroidery Hoop Ornaments
- Embroidery Hoops – I bought THESE (affiliate link)
- Plastic Snowflake Ornaments, make sure snowflakes are smaller than embroidery hoops so they can fit inside
- Black paint
- Extreme Glitter Mod Podge
- Thin string or embroidery floss
- Gold bakers twine or something similar
How to Make Embroidery Hoop Ornaments
- Paint your embroidery hoop black. Let dry.
- Add a layer of extreme glitter mod podge. Let dry.
- Thread string on the snowflake and hang on embroidery hoop so that the snowflake is in the middle.
- Add Bows to the top of the embroidery hoops.
- Add gold baker’s twine hoop to hang on the tree and you’re done!
If you don’t want to paint the embroidery hoops black and glittery, you can leave them plain for a more rustic look. The glitter may not go with your Christmas ornament theme, so you can customize this however you want! You can also dress up or down the ribbon however you want! If you want all-out glam, you can go for a glittery red bow. If you want a more subtle festive look, you can do a plain red or striped bow! Instead of gold baker’s twine, you can use regular twine to make it rustic or add silver baker’s twine if you’re not a gold person. The great thing about crafts like these is that it’s totally dependent on your decor style so you can make it however festive or subtle you want!
