It’s almost time to decorate the tree! I know….How do I NOT have my tree up yet? In blogland you need to have Christmas practically in July! 🙂 As much as I have wanted to decorate for Christmas, I really wanted to wait until Thanksgiving. I love Thanksgiving and feel that it is a holiday that gets overlooked by all the hustle and bustle of Christmas (and I LOVE CHRISTMAS). My tree theme ( my husband l
oves that I want themes—he likes more of eclectic “meaningful trees” –I told him once the kids are a bit older and have more ornaments that’s what we will do, but for now…Momma is decorating it the way SHE wants–haha) this year is red, white and burlap! Sounds pretty right? I decided to make some easy felt poinsettias for the tree…after all..I do have two little boys under 3 and it needs to be as kid safe as possible and filled with ornaments that won’t make me upset if they break and I’m already counting on a few breaking! 🙂 These are super simple!
Supplies for Felt Poinsettia:
Cut out 10 flower petal shapes (or more depending on how many layers you want your poinsettia to have). Using your hot glue gun, glue your first layer together. For your second layer, fold your petals slightly when hot gluing down to give it more of a dimensional look. Continue until all your petals are gone. Add your beads to the center of the flower, I personally love these small pearl beads for smaller projects. Lastly, add a small piece of ribbon to the back for hanging! ENJOY!
