Materials Needed to Make a Torn Paper Christmas Tree

If you do lots of crafting with your kids, you probably already have these materials lying around the house! If not, head to the dollar store or craft store for everything you need.

  • FREE Tree Template
  • Black cardstock (8×11)
  • Green and brown cardstock or construction paper
  • Glitter gold star
  • Small pom poms
  • Googly eyes (I love the adhesive kind)
  • Cotton balls
  • White paint
  • glue (liquid or glue stick)

How to Make a Torn Paper Christmas Tree

  1. Draw a tree or trace the around our FREE TREE template on black paper. Leave a space at the bottom for the tree trunk.
  2. Tear green pieces of paper and glue them onto the tree shape.
  3. Add pom poms and a gold star for decoration.
  4. Glue on your googly eyes and a black construction paper mouth.
  5. Add a brown trunk.
  6. Make snowflakes using white paint and the bottom of a paintbrush. We made dots different sizes.
  7. Glue cotton balls to the bottom of the paper to represent snow.
