Paper Plate Daisy Craft
When the sunshine is out and the days are long, it’s the perfect time for a sweet and simple flower craft! These Paper Plate Daisies are a fun way to soak in the summer vibes—no watering can required!
This craft is a great way to keep hands busy on hot afternoons! Whether you’re spending the day inside to beat the heat or enjoying a picnic-style craft session outside, this project is a must for those flower loving artists.
What we love most? Kids can get creative with two fun flower styles. Kids can make a full blooming daisy, a sweet half-daisy, or mix and match for extra fun! Add in some black marker lines for a playful, storybook look and top it all off with a tiny ladybug friend for the perfect summertime touch.

Materials Needed:
- Daisy Template
- Dessert size paper plates, we use the cheapest ones!
- Black Sharpie
- Yellow Craft paint
- Green jumbo popsicle sticks (2)
- Lime green cardstock
- Lime green marker
- Red cardstock
- White cardstock
- Pencil
- Glue stick
- Scissors
How To Make This Paper Plate Daisy Craft
Step 1: Create Your Flower Base
- For a half daisy: Cut one paper plate in half. Draw your petals lightly with a pencil and cut out, making the middle of the flower bump up a little bit (see photos).
- For a full daisy: Keep the paper plate whole and use a pencil to draw daisy petals around the edge, leaving a tiny bit of space between each petal.
Step 2: Paint the Flower Centers
- For the half daisy: Paint a small half oval in yellow on the bumped-up center area. Let dry.
- For the full daisy: Paint a yellow circle in the center, about 1½ inches in diameter. Let dry completely.
Step 3: Add the Black Outline Details
- Use a black Sharpie to loosely trace around the yellow center and each petal-don’t worry about being perfect! It’s totally fine to lift your marker and start again here and there, it just adds character.
- For the full daisy, try tracing about ¼ inch inside the plate’s edge to create a white border that gives the flower a fun, sticker or storybook-style look. Kids will love the freedom to be playful with their lines, but feel free to skip this step if too difficult for your childs age.
Step 4: Attach Stems and Leaves
- Glue each flower to a green jumbo popsicle stick stem.
- Use our free Template and cut leaves from lime green cardstock (smaller leaves for the half flower, larger for the full daisy).
- Use the lime green marker to add line details to the leaves, then glue them to the stems.
Step 5: Create a Ladybug Friend
- Cut a small circle from red cardstock and glue it onto a small piece of white cardstock.
- Draw a head, antennae, and legs onto the white paper with black Sharpie.
- Add a line down the middle of the red circle with three dots on either side.
- Cut around the ladybug in a sticker-cut style and glue to the larger flower.
