My Carter loves dinosaurs.  It’s an interest that he has had for years now and he shows no signs of letting them go anytime soon.  While his fascination is still strong we will enjoy all things dinosaurs like our dinosaur dirt cups and our dinosaur lantern jars. This fun 3D dinosaur coloring activity is a fun kids activity that will keep them busy coloring and playing!

You only need a few kid friendly supplies to get playing:

• Free dinosaur activity printable– link is also above
• Kid friendly markers- I prefer washable markers
• scissors, kid safety for younger children
• paper
• scissors

One Printable. Two ways to Play.

My favorite thing about this coloring activity is that it’s a 2-in-1. 

Flat Play: After you child colors his or hers dinosaurs and cuts them out they can arrange the dinosaurs on top of the colored play scene as flat play. 

3D Play: You can also make your dinosaurs stand up (instructions below) and create a fun 3D environment where their colored dinosaurs can play and even add some toys dinosaurs too. 

How to make 3D Dinosaurs

To create your 3D dinosaurs print out the free printable sheet and color as desired.  Once the dinosaurs are colored cut them out with the age appropriate scissors.   Take a small piece of white paper and roll it into a tube. Tape to secure.  Glue or tape to your dinosaurs. You may need to play a little with the tubes or bend some of the dinosaur tails/wings to get them to stand up straight but they will. 🙂
