Making breakfast on Saturday or Sundays morning is one of my favorite weekend routines. Typically during the week we only have time for quick grab-and-go type breakfast options so enjoying waffles, pancakes and other breakfast options is something we look forward to. I will often make a double batch of this french toast recipe so we have plenty for the kids to enjoy during the busy school week.

What bread makes the best Classic French Toast?

We prefer to use a thicker/heartier bread such as Sara Lee Artisano Brioche when making French Toast or just Sara Lee Arisano is good too.

Can I freeze Classic French Toast?

Yes! You can make the french toast, then lay all the pieces out on a cookie sheet. Freeze for about 30 minutes, then stack and put in a Ziploc bag. For best quality, use within 1-2 months.

  1. Just curious, why use flour? I’ve made plenty of French toast and have seen many recipes for French toast but this is the first I’ve ever seen anyone use flour in their recipe.
