How To Make a Paper Mushroom Craft
Step 1: Prepare the Background
Tear a piece of green cardstock or construction paper. Glue to the bottom of your blackStart by gluing a piece of black construction paper onto a bright-colored sheet of paper to act as the background. You can also tear a strip of green construction paper for grass at the bottom.

Step 2: Create the Mushroom Cap
Use our free mushroom template to cut out your mushroom cap and stem. Glue your stem to your background piece first. Lay the mushroom cap template on top of your stem piece. Use a pencil to trace around. This is the area you will fill with your red torn pieces of paper.
Tear red paper into small pieces. It’s okay if the pieces are irregular in shape—this adds to the charm! Once you have enough torn paper, glue the pieces onto the black background inside your traced line.

Step 3: Add the Face
Glue on a pair of googly eyes to bring your mushroom to life. Cut out two small pink circles for the mushroom’s cheeks and a small black smile from black paper. Glue these to the mushroom stem to complete its happy face.

Step 4: Add Spots
Using white paper, cut out circles and glue them randomly onto the mushroom cap. These will act as the iconic white spots seen on cartoon mushrooms.
