How to Create the Fox

The fox is one of the coolest woodland creatures. It’s such a fun character to create and use while telling stories, too.

  1. Cut the paper plates in half (just a tad less than half)
  2. Paint the plate orange.
  3. Cut out your template pieces.
  4. Glue the pieces in place. Don’t forget the pink buttons for its cheeks.

  2. Paint the plate tan.
  3. Cut out your template pieces. The spikes are just pieces of paper cut into strips of varying lengths.
  4. Glue the pieces in place. Don’t forget their eyes!

When Should I Use These Woodland Animals?

The woodland animals in this post are perfect to make for a fall dinner party with kids. Set them out on a craft table with examples of how they should look. Let the kids figure out the steps, or walk them through it.

These crafts are also perfect for a classroom or homeschool study on forest animals. While kids are learning about foxes, beavers, hedgehogs, and more, let them create their own cute animals to hang onto. They also look fantastic displayed on a bulletin board when complete.

Read stories that incorporate characters of each creature. There are tons of books with foxes as both the good and bad guy. I have also come across plenty of books about hedgehogs and even beavers! Kids will enjoy listening to a story about the animals before creating their own craft.
