How to Make a Handprint Witch
This fun Halloween craft is super simple but may require some help from adult hands. The little nose is a bit tricky to cut and attach. If your kids are older, trust the process and let them try to recreate the witch simply by looking at your completed model.
- Trace your child’s handprint on green paper OR make their handprint using green paint and place it on white paper.
- Color the tips of the top four fingers black using your black Sharpie marker.
- Cut small strips of purple paper and attach right beneath the black fingertips to look like the witch’s hair.
- Add a black strip of paper above the purple hair to look like the brim of the witch’s hat.
- Add googly eyes, and a crooked nose using glue.
- Draw on a smile or open mouth using your black marker.
- Draw on green warts using a green marker.
- Dip the hard end of a paintbrush into pink paint and dot it on the witch’s cheeks.
For an added challenge, see if your child can trace their own hands to make the witch’s face. It’s a fun way to test their fine motor skills and to keep them occupied for a moment. I love seeing their tiny little handprint afterward.
