How To Make Feeding 5,000 Bible Craft

Step 1: Print the Template

Download and print the template on white cardstock for a sturdier craft. Print your basket template right onto your brown paper for less tracing!

Step 2: Color the Fish

Color your fish and bread loaves with markers, crayons or colored pencils.

Step 3: Create the Basket

From the template, cut out the large rectangle to use as your basket base. Fold it in half lengthwise, then carefully cut evenly spaced slits across the folded edge, stopping just before the opposite side so the ends remain attached. Unfold the rectangle to reveal your basket base with weaving slits.

Step 4: Weave your Basket

Now take the darker brown strips and weave them through the slits—over one strip, under the next, over, under, and so on. For the next strip, do the opposite—start by going under first, then over. Keep weaving until all three strips are in, and slide them close together so your basket looks nice and full.

Step 5: Add your Background & Label

Glue your basket to your background piece. We used a black piece of paper but feel free to use whatever color you want.

If using, glue your label to the front of your basket.

Step Six:

Glue your two fish and 5 loaves to the top of your basket.
