Fishers of Men Craft – a great VBS craft!

This Fishers of Men craft is centered around the time Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee and asked two brothers, Simon (later called Peter) and Andrew, to join Him on a journey of a lifetime as His first disciples.  Jesus asked these fishermen by trade to cast aside their nets and to become Fishers of Men. (Matthew 4:19) Jesus wanted them to follow in His footsteps sharing the good news of His life – that He came to save us from our sin and to spend an eternity with Him- and they did!

How To Make Fishers of Men Craft

1. Use our free template to cut out your various pieces you will need.

  1. Using a ruler if needed, mark straight lines on your boat and add vertical lines as well. Add little “nails” on either side.
  2. Tear both of your blue pieces of paper and glue to white cardstock as shown.
  3. Glue your brown boat on top of blue paper so it looks as though it’s floating.
  4. Add a small rectangle piece of brown paper off the boat and glue a piece of string to it. This will make it look like a fishing pole.
  1. Glue your fish shapes onto the blue paper, making sure you glue one to the other end of the string.
  2. Use your blue maker to add small bubbles near each fish.  Add googly eyes to each fish.

Whether you use this in a children’s ministry setting or at home with your little ones as a fun Bible craft we hope this allows you and your children to reflect on the obedience these new disciples took and how we, even to this day, can also be -fishers of men- in a fallen world which desperately needs Jesus.
