Easy Baked Apples Recipe

Easy Baked Apples

While this tasty treat will make your house smell like fall, we can all agree that’s the best smell of all! We tend to make this easy recipe several times a year to go with a delicious dessert or as a lunch or dinner side. I know people that like to enjoy them with savory pork chops! Even though they are on the sweeter side, they’re always a hit. Use them as an apple pie filling or in numerous other apple recipes, like apple crisp. They always make the perfect dessert.

 Ingredients To Make Baked Apples

  • 4-5 apples (about 4 cups) peeled and cut into ½ inch cubes, we use honey crisp
  • 3 TBSP butter
  • 1 ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ½ TBSP brown sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

If you don’t have one, I recommend getting an apple corer, they make life easier when you don’t have a sharp knife on hand.

How To Make The Baked Apple Recipe

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Place apples in a small baking dish ( I used an 8×11 or 2 quart dish).
  3. Melt butter in a small bowl.
  4. Add cinnamon, brown sugar, salt and lemon juice to the melted butter.
  5. Whisk together until smooth.  Pour over apples. Mix until all apples are covered.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes, depending on desired doneness. We like a tiny bite in them still 🙂 Bake times will vary based on your oven and preferences.

These easy baked apple slices can be enjoyed all year long. It will leave your home smelling amazing! Serve with a scoop of ice cream or as a sweet side dish. Another idea is to add them on top of an oatmeal mixture for breakfast. They also make great toppings for other apple desserts.

You can’t go wrong with these delicious apples. Some of the best apples to use are gala apples, granny smith apples (for a little more tartness), pink lady apples, and honeycrisp apples.

Choose your apple based on whether you want a sweet apple or a tart apple. This may also depend on whether it is apple season or not. It’s a fun recipe to make after a day of apple picking in the apple orchard!
