This cake uses all the ingredients for a delicious flavorful cake with a pop of fall spice making this the perfect cake to enjoy during the holiday seasons or all year round. Some of the key ingredients are:
- brown sugar
- cinnamon
- ground cloves
- allspice
- applesauce
HOW TO MAKE APPLESAUCE CAKE
- Cream together butter and sugars until pale in color.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves and allspice.
- Add flour mixture to butter mixture until combined.
- Add applesauce and eggs and mix again.
- Pour into a greased 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick in center comes out clean. I begin to check at 35 minutes bake time.

- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground cloves
- 1/2 tsp allspice
- 2 cups applesauce
- 2 eggs
Instructions
- Cream together butter and sugar until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves and allspice.
- Add flour mixture to butter mixture and mix until combined.
- Add applesauce and eggs and mix again.
- Pour into a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick in the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool.
- Top individual slices with powdered sugar and a dollop of coolwhip.
