Double Chocolate Cookies Recipe
It’s not wonder cookies are one of the most popular “desserts/treats” in most households. They are simple, delicious and come in so many varieties! If your short on time you can even start with a cake mix base for your tasty treats like our funfetti cake mix cookies. Whether you like classic molasses cookies year round or only make holiday appropriate cookies like our raspberry almond meltaways once a year there is room for these double chocolate cookies.
My middle son just loves all things chocolate. The more chocolate the better in his eyes. I personally prefer fruity desserts but I had to agree these cookies were yummy and oh so chocolatey. When they are baking you want to keep your eye on them so they don’t over bake. The key to the ooey gooeyness of this chocolate cookies recipe is the soft centers.
You only need a few simple ingredients to make these chocolate cookies and you may already have everything you need in your pantry. You will start with a chocolate cake mix, whether it’s chocolate, devils food cake or dark chocolate is completely up to you! I personally used devil’s food cake.
You want to bake them for about 8-10 minutes. Until the cookies begin to crack and are just the tiniest bit undercooked. They will cook a bit longer while cooling on the hot rack.
Double Chocolate Cookies Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 box chocolate cake mix, I used Devil's Food Cake
- 1/3 cup canola oil
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Mix together chocolate cake mix, canola oil and eggs until fully combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Using a one inch cookie scoop, scoop batter onto silpat covered baking sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. ( I would check at 8 minutes- you want them just the tiniest bit under done when you take them out of the oven)
