Materials Needed To Make A Tissue Paper Campfire
- Cardstock, green and black
- Tissue Paper, we love to use the tissue paper squares for less prep!
- Jumbo Popsicle Sticks
- White Craft Paint & Paint Brush (can also use an old toothbrush)
- Crayons, green and brown

How To Make a Tissue Paper Campfire
Step 1: Make the Starry Sky
Dip an old toothbrush or paintbrush in white paint and flick it over your black cardstock. This makes a pretty splatter that looks like a sky full of stars. Let it dry before moving on.

Step 2: Add the Grass
Tear a strip of green construction paper and glue it along the bottom edge of your background. Use a green crayon to add a few simple tufts of grass for extra detail and texture.

Step 3: Build the Logs
Color two popsicle sticks with a brown crayon. Add a few wavy lines for woodgrain texture.

Step 4: Create the Flames
Crumple yellow, orange, and red tissue paper squares into loose balls. Start gluing the yellow near the logs, then add orange, and finish with red on top. The layering creates a warm glowing effect, just like a real fire.

Step 5: Finishing Touches
Glue the two logs in a criss cross shape below the tissue paper fire.

Crafty Tips:
- Want less mess? Place a baking sheet covered with parchment paper under your paper when kids splatter paint for the stars. You can also buy a cheap roll of butcher paper and tear off a piece and place it on your surface.
- Short on time? Pre-cut the tissue squares or buy our favorite tissue paper squares so little ones can jump right to the fun.
- Feeling extra creative? Add a popsicle stick “marshmallow” with a cotton ball on top for an added fun detail.
This Tissue Paper Campfire Craft is one of those projects that comes together quickly but looks so impressive once it’s finished. Whether you’re doing a camping theme, need a rainy-day activity, or just want something simple and sweet, this little paper campfire is a winner!
