How To Make a Rainbow Straw Craft

Step 1: Prep Your Template

Print the rainbow template directly onto light blue cardstock. This will serve as your background and guide for the straw placement.

Step 2: Add Your Rainbow Straws

Cut each colored straw into small 1-inch pieces. Following the black lines on the template, apply a line of liquid glue. Carefully place each straw piece along the line, leaving a small space between each one. Repeat for all rainbow colors until your full rainbow is complete.

Step 3: Add Clouds and the Sun

Cut out fluffy cloud shapes from white cardstock and glue them at the ends of the rainbow. For the sun, cut a yellow circle and add it to one corner of the sky. Trim excess off of the sun.

Step 4: Add a Friendly Face

Use googly eyes, a pink circle nose or cheeks, and your black Sharpie to add a sweet little smile to your cloud or sun!

This Rainbow Straw Craft is more than just cute—it’s a fantastic way to talk about weather, practice color order, and get kids excited about creating something bright and beautiful. Hang it on the fridge, use it as a classroom display, or make it part of your next rainbow-themed unit!
