Materials Needed To Make A Fingerprint Rainbow

  • Turquoise blue cardstock (for the background)
  • White cardstock (for the rainbow and clouds)
  • Paint in rainbow colors: red, orange, yellow, green, turquoise blue, purple
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Template

How To Make a Fingerprint Rainbow

Step 1: Prep the Rainbow Template

  • Print or draw a simple rainbow shape onto white cardstock. This will be your base for the fingerprint pattern.

Step 2: Add Fingerprint Colors

  • Start with red and begin making fingerprint dots along the top arch of the rainbow. Continue filling in each color in order—orange, yellow, green, turquoise blue, and finally purple. Let dry completely.

Step 3: Mount Your Rainbow

  • Once dry, glue the rainbow shape onto a piece of turquoise blue cardstock and cut around leave a small amount of blue cardstock showing around the edges (we call this a sticker cut).

Step 4: Add Fluffy Clouds

  • Cut out cloud shapes from white cardstock and glue them at each end of the rainbow. You can keep them simple or fluff them up with a cotton ball effect!
