FAQs

What if I don’t have a glue stick?

Glue sticks are my favorite type of glue for most of my kids crafts. Liquid glue is a great option as well but it takes longer to dry which is sometimes hard for impatient crafters. You can also use scotch tape to adhere the tentacles to the back of the paper plate.

What can I use instead of Googly Eyes?

If you have a home printer you can download our free eye template and use the biggest set. You can also color and cut out eyes from black and white construction paper or draw them directly on the paper plate.

Is this craft good for language development?

Absolutely! Your kids can bring their paper plate octopus to life by naming it, creating stories, and acting out underwater adventures! This activity boosts their language skills, vocabulary, and narrative abilities. It also provides an opportunity for you and your kids to engage in interactive storytelling sessions.

What if I can’t find dessert-size paper plates?

You can use regular-size paper plates instead however the free template we provide was created using a dessert size paper plate. You may need to trace around the template to make it a little bigger.

What if I can’t find pink buttons?

You can use a pink marker, crayon, paint, or anything else you like to draw pink circles on your octopus!
