Homemade Lemonade
Nothing beats a cool glass of lemonade during hot summer days, although I do enjoy it all year round. 🙂 This homemade lemonade recipe is simple, bursting with lemon flavor and perfectly sweetened. With less than a dozen lemons and a sweet simple syrup this is a glass of lemonade you can serve at a party or make single servings as you go.
Sweetened to Perfection
For this recipe we use a simple syrup as our sweetener. I prefer to use this method to be sure all the granulated sugar gets dissolved before adding to our fresh lemon juice,
To serve in a large pitcher: Pour 7-8 cups of cold water into pitcher, add chilled lemon juice and chilled simple syrup mixture. Stir to combine.
For Single Servings: Add water, lemon juice, and simple syrup mixture to taste. Best poured over ice.
How many lemons do I need to make fresh lemonade?
We use about 1 1/2 cups of fresh lemonade juice in this recipe, which is about 8-10 lemons depending on size and ripeness. For quick juicing we prefer to use a hand juicer with a glass bottom for easy measuring but you can also use a manual hand juicer as well. PRO TIP: Before juicing I like to roll the lemon the counter with my palm to help release the juices.
