This Italian Cheese French Bread is a delicious party appetizer your guests will love.  It only requires a few simple ingredients.

Every year around the holidays I make these Italian cheese french bread slices for our annual Grinch party, and my annual Christmas cookie exchange. My brother-in-law James can’t get enough of them. They are actually a favorite by most of my family members.  They are delicious any time of the year but appetizers seem to be most used around the holidays don’t they? You only need a few simple ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry.  I typically use a store-bought french loaf because it’s inexpensive and doesn’t take nearly as long to prepare than making my own french loaf.

We like to dice up a green pepper to bake on top.  You could use a red, yellow, or no peppers at all.  My younger boys don’t like the peppers so I am always sure to leave a few french bread slices without them.

This italian cheese french bread gets it’s delicious flavor from the Italian dressing salad mix packet and boy is it yummy! It’s so fun making appetizers that my boys can help with.  It’s great when my kids can help me, whether it’s spreading the mayo mixture or topping the bread slices with tiny green peppers.  I have made many memories growing up in the kitchen with my own mother so it’s so fun to create memories with my own children.
