How To Make a Popsicle Stick Apple

Step 1: Preparing the Popsicle Sticks

  • If wanting to make your own colored popsicle sticks, paint four craft sticks in red or green and let them dry completely. We used colored popsicle sticks to avoid needing to use paint. Glue each edge of the popsicle sticks together to form a square.
  • Using our template, Cut a square of colored cardstock (to match your apple) and glue the four popsicle sticks around the edge to make a square frame. Let dry.
  • Cut out your stems, leaves, and pink cheeks from your colored cardstock.

Step 2: Creating the Face

  • Stick on googly eyes and pink cheeks, then draw a cute smile. Add eyelashes or rosy cheeks for even more personality!
  • Wrap a strip of green paper around a pencil to create a curly vine, then glue it near the stem on your finished apple.

🍏 Crafty Tips:

  • Use a glue gun (with adult help) for a faster hold if you’re short on time.
  • Make a yellow apple too! Let kids choose which kind of apple they like best—or make all three!
  • Add a magnet to the back and turn your apple into a fridge buddy or name tag.
  • Create a classroom display with a basket of smiling apples and the phrase “We’re the Pick of the Patch!”

This Popsicle Stick Apple Craft is a sweet way to welcome fall, kick off the school year, or add a creative twist to an apple unit. It’s simple, colorful, and full of possibilities for learning and fun!
