Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies: a classic peanut butter cookie baked until soft and topped with a chocolate Hershey kiss. Roll cookie dough in colored sugar for festive holiday cookies.
Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies
Certain cookies seem to make their appearance every holiday season and these peanut butter blossom cookies are a classic Christmas cookie. These are a favorite cookie exchange recipe along side our raspberry coconut cookies, gingerbread cookies, and our raspberry almond meltaways.
Festive Christmas Cookies
These delicious cookies are typically rolled in white sugar before baking but for a festive look around the Holiday season we like to roll our cookies in red and green sanding sugar. You want to add the chocolate Hershey Kiss while the cookies are still warm. Once I take them out of the oven I let them rest for about 1 minutes before adding the kisses. You want the cookie to still be hot enough to melt the chocolate kiss.
How to Make Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies
- Cream butter and sugars. Add peanut butter and blend until smooth. Add egg, milk and vanilla.
- Next add the flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix just until combined. Refrigerate for 30 minutes if the dough is too sticky to roll.
- Roll dough into 1″ balls. Roll in sugar ( white or colored sanding sugar) and then place onto prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 7-9 minutes at 350°F or just lightly brown on the bottom.
- Press Hershey’s kiss into cookie immediately after the cookies comes out of the oven.
