Materials Needed To Make A Mother’s Day Flower Wreath Craft

How To Make A Mother’s Day Flower Wreath Craft

Step 1: Prep the Wreath Base

Cut the center out of your paper plate, leaving about a 1-inch rim all the way around to form the base of your wreath.

Step 2: Paint the Wreath

Paint the rim green. You may want to do two coats, but since most of it will be covered by flowers, one coat is usually enough! Let dry completely.

Step 3: Color and Personalize the Flowers

Use colored pencils to color in your flower templates. Fill in the five special flowers with answers about Mom, such as favorite memories, why you love her, and fun facts. (An ultrafine Sharpie works great for fitting text neatly into the flower centers!)

Step 4: Cut Out Your Flowers and Leaves

Carefully cut out all the flowers and leaves from your template. No need for perfect cuts—once layered, it all looks beautiful! To fill the 10 inch plate we used 12 flowers.

Step 5: Assemble the Wreath

  • Start by gluing the five “All About Mom” flowers around your wreath first, spacing them evenly.
  • Fill in the spaces by gluing the additional colored flowers around the plate, layering as needed to cover the green base.
  • Tuck leaves behind flowers for extra texture and color (use the photos for placement inspiration!).

Step 6: Add the MOM Banner

Glue the “MOM” banner or the “I LOVE YOU” banner across the middle of the wreath. Just be careful not to cover any of the sweet answers your child wrote on the flowers!

Bonus Crafty Ideas & Tips:

  • 🎨 Use colored pencils rather than markers for coloring the flowers—they blend beautifully and won’t bleed onto thin paper.
  • 🖍️ Add dimension by curling the edges of the flower petals slightly before gluing them down!
  • 💖 Frame the wreath in a large shadow box for an extra special Mother’s Day gift.
  • 🌟 Let kids pick the flower colors to personalize it even more for their mom’s favorite shades!
