How To Make a Valentine’s Day Heart Wreath
Step 1: Print the Template
- Print the free heart coloring pages. We prefer to print these on cardstock for the durability of the project.
- Color as desired with markers, colored pencils or crayons – Let kids choose their favorite Valentine colors such as pinks, reds, purples, or even rainbow! Encourage patterns like stripes, polka dots, swirls, or little doodle hearts.

Step 2: Cut out the Pieces
- Carefully cut around each heart and bow shape. Younger kids may need a little extra help with the smaller or more detailed pieces, but cutting out heart shapes is excellent practice for building scissor skills. The curved lines encourage better control, strengthen hand muscles, and help kids learn how to smoothly turn their paper as they cut.

Step 3: Arrange on a Paper Plate Wreath
- Cut out the center of your paper plate so you have a wreath shape.
- Following the circle shape of your plate, tape your hearts in place filling the whole paper plate.

Step 4: Add a Ribbon
- If desired, add a small ribbon loop or magnet to the back of your wreath for hanging.
