How To Make a Torn Paper Pencil Craft
Step 1: Prepare your Materials
Start by gathering all your materials and cutting out your pieces using our FREE template pieces.
Tear the Yellow Paper: Tear the yellow paper into small pieces. This is a great way for kids to practice their tearing skills and get a bit messy! The pieces don’t have to be perfect – the more varied, the better! On a piece of plain white paper, draw a long rectangle using our template piece. This will be the base of your pencil.

Step 2: Creating the Pencil Shape
Now, start gluing the yellow torn paper pieces inside the rectangle. Overlap the pieces a little to make sure the entire rectangle is covered. This will be the body of your pencil. Before you completely finish adding the yellow pieces add your brown cut out pencil tip and add just a few more pieces of yellow to cover the base a tad.

Step 3: Adding Final Pieces
Add the final black pencil tip, pink eraser, and small silver piece.

Step 4: Give it some personality!
Now is the fun part! Add googly eyes, a smile and some rosy cheeks to finish off your pencil character!

Crafty Tips:
- Mix and Match: Encourage your kids to experiment with different colors. They can create their favorite colored pencil instead!
- Personalize: Add stickers, doodles, or even glitter to make the pencils extra special.
- Display: Hang the finished pencils on the wall or fridge to create a fun and colorful display.
This Torn Paper Pencil Craft is a fantastic way for kids to get creative and practice their fine motor skills. It’s also a wonderful project for back-to-school season or any time you want to encourage some crafty fun.
