Funnel cakes are one of my favorite summer time treats. While we typically enjoy this delicious dessert at our county fair you can easily make these funnel cake bites and our funnel cakes at home! These funnel cake bites are a delicious twist from our regular funnel cake recipe. For this recipe we use the same batter but in more bite sized and kid friendly puffs.

The ingredients need to make your funnel cake batter and easily found and ingredients you most likely have on hand! It’s a simple batter that is fried to perfection.

Variations and Tips
Funnel Cake toppings besides powdered sugar
While our classic funnel cake recipe calls for powdered sugar these little funnel cake puffs are delicious with powdered sugar and some fun dipping sauces! Being that these are bite sized little puffs they are great for little fingers and dipping. Here are some of our favorite topping/dipping ideas:
- chocolate fudge sauce, warmed
- caramel sauce, warmed
- strawberry sauce
- apple pie filling
Can funnel cake batter be refrigerated?
Yes! I have found that funnel cake batter can be kept in an airtight container for 3-5 days before use. This recipe is great to prep ahead and fry right before serving. As with all fried food, these funnel cake bites are best eaten right away.
