Easy Fall Craft for Kids
This craft project is a fun fall craft that even the littlest of crafters can enjoy! Do-A-Dot markers are a great beginner craft supplies and are fun to use as your kids age into projects like this candy corn, Do a Dot Rainbow, or even our Do a Dot Turkey! These markers are great for little hands to hold onto but can also elevate your craft project by added pops of color!

Materials Needed To Make Do-A-Dot Candy Corn
- Candy Corn template
- Do-A-Dot Markers in orange, yellow, and white
- Googly eyes
- Construction paper or cardstock
- Glue
- Scissors
- Optional: Ribbons or additional decorations for personalization
How To Make Do-A-Dot Candy Corn
Step 1: Start with a Base
Begin by printing or drawing your candy corn shape on a sturdy piece of cardstock. This will be the base of your craft. Print out our FREE template HERE if you wish!
Step 2: Shade It!
Let the little ones have fun filling in the candy corn sections with colored pencils or crayons. Use yellow for the bottom and orang for the middle! No need to color the top portion 🙂
Step 3: Dot It!
Grab those dot markers and dot – dot – dot! This is GREAT for those fine motor skills!
Step 4: Add the Eyes
Once the paint dries, glue two googly eyes to give your candy corn a playful personality. You can draw a mouth and add a cute bow or other decorative elements to bring your candy corn to life.
Crafty Tips:
- For the littlest crafters I like to have them draw their candy corn segments with a pencil first. Then they can trace their line with a sharpie. It’s a great way for them to get the line just the way they want it and to practice tracing.
- Coloring the candy corn segments with crayons and colored pencils works best! Marker will work as well but the lighter colors the crayons and colored pencils offer helps the do a dot markers stand out more!
- Don’t have googly eyes? Feel free to have kids make their own eyes with white circles or they can draw their eyes and expressions directly onto their candy corn.
