Basketball is a big sport in our family. My husband and I played all through high school, and now our two boys are entering their JV and high school basketball years, while our daughter is looking forward to her intramural elementary season. 🙂 We love the game of ball! These bubble wrap basketballs are an easy and fun way to mix the love and sports and Art in one quick activity. My K5 Art class even made these last year to decorate the schools halls for our annual basketball tournament.

This craft is great for kids of all ages and makes the perfect decoration for a basketball party, classroom bulletin board, or even just a fun afternoon activity for little sports fans. Whether you’re gearing up for March Madness or celebrating a new basketball season, this easy craft is a slam dunk!

Crafty Tips for the Best Bubble Wrap Basketballs:

  1. Easier Bubble Wrap Process – Is it too hard to cut out a circle from your bubble wrap? Paint a square piece of bubble wrap and press onto your paper. Once the paper is dry you can cut out a circle shape.
  2. Experiment with Different Bubble Wrap Sizes – Bubble wrap comes in small, medium, and large bubbles. Try different sizes to see which one gives the best basketball texture!
  3. Use a White Paint Pen for Highlights – Add tiny white dots or a slight curved line to one side of the ball to give it a more 3D effect.
  4. Turn It into a Banner or Poster – String multiple basketballs together with clothespins and twine for a fun basketball-themed decoration.
  5. Personalize It! – Write players’ names or jersey numbers on the basketballs to make them unique. These would be great locker decorations for a team!

These extra touches will make this craft even more fun for kids while giving them creative ways to express their love for basketball. 😊🏀
