HOW TO VIDEO:

Materials Needed To Make this Candy Corn Craft

  • Candy Corn Shape Template
  • Googly Eyes
  • Cardstock – black, orange and yellow
  • Cardstock – pink, optional if making cheeks
  • Black Sharpie
  • Glue or Tape

How To Make a Candy Corn Craft

Step 1: Prep Candy Corn Pieces

  • Cut out your candy corn template. Then, cut two thick rectangular pieces from your orange and yellow cardstock—each one should be slightly longer than your candy corn shape so it extends past the edges.
  • Cut out two long black rectangles and two yellow rectangles for the arms and legs. The sizes can vary depending on how long or short you want them to be for your candy corn character.

Step 2: Creating the Face

  • Glue your two rectangle pieces to the front of your candy corn shape. Place the orange strip in the middle and the yellow strip at the bottom to create the classic candy corn look.
  • Trim off any extra cardstock around your candy corn shape. For younger kids, it can be easier to flip the project over and trim from the back so they can clearly see the edges.

Step 3: Adding Faces

  • Add two googly eyes to the center of your candy corn character. If you don’t have googly eyes, kids can draw their own eyes directly on the paper or cut out small white circles to make paper eyes instead.
  • If using, add two circle pink paper cheeks to your candy corn. Kids can also choose to color this step with markers or crayons if desired.

Step 4: Give it some personality!

  • Using a black sharpie or marker add a smile or smirk to your candy corn. You can also add eyelashes if desired!

Step 5: Finishing Touches

  • Fold the leg and arm strips accordion-style for extra fun movement.
  • Glue or tape the arms and legs to the back of the candy corn. Let dry and display your new fall friend!

A Fun Preschool Candy Corn Craft

If you’re looking for a preschool candy corn craft that’s bright, simple, and just plain fun, this is the one! Kids will practice fine motor skills as they cut, fold, and glue each part together. It’s a great way to celebrate Halloween or fall without anything spooky — just cheerful candy corn characters full of personality.

This candy corn craft helps kids learn about shapes, colors, and sequencing while practicing their cutting and folding skills. It’s also a great opportunity to talk about patterns and symmetry, notice how the colors of candy corn always repeat in the same order!
