Materials Needed To Make A Torn Paper Spider

How To Make a Torn Paper Spider Craft

Step 1: Prep Your Paper Pieces

Prep your paper: Start by tearing black cardstock/construction paper into small pieces. These will form the body of your spider. Cut out 8 legs from black paper and two pink cheeks using our spider template!

Step 2: Make the Spider Body

Spider’s body: Using the circle from the free template and pencil, trace a circle onto your spider web background piece. Then, help your child glue the torn pieces of black paper inside the circle to build up the spider’s body.

Step 3: Finishing Touches

Spider legs: Cut out eight legs from black paper. Glue these around the spider’s body. I liked to tuck the edges under some of the torn pieces of paper before the glue fully dried.

Add the face: Attach googly eyes, a cute smile cut from white paper, and pink cheeks for a touch of fun!

Crafty Tips:

  • Let your kids decide how “spooky” or “cute” they want their spider to be. Adding different color cheeks or even funny paper hats can personalize it even more!
  • For the littlest crafters you can pre-cut the 8 legs and tear the paper.
  • To make this craft even easier you can hand draw the 8 spider legs with a black sharpie or marker.
