These simple snowflake cupcakes will be a big hit at your Winter/Christmas party!  They are so elegant looking and the icing can be made in any color you want them to be.  I think they would be so pretty in a Holly red!  You can find this recipe in my Kids Treat Book but I also thought it would be fun to share it here with you all!  I used my favorite chocolate cake/cupcake recipe as the base for my cupcakes and a classic buttercream frosting that I colored a mint green.   To make the snowflakes you only need a few minutes and a few ingredients

Supplies:

White Chocolate Candy Melts, I like to use Bright White

Silpat or Parchment Paper covered baking pan

Cake Decorating Bag and a #1 tip

Snowflake template, I just googled “snowflake” template and found one that I liked, opened it in a Word document, sized it down to the size I want my snowflake to be, and printed it!

Directions:

Melt vanilla candy melts in a candy melting electric pot according to package instructions, or in the microwave at 30-second increments. Place melted chocolate in a cake-decorating bag with a #1 tip.

Slide your snowflake template underneath a piece of parchment paper and pipe a snowflake shape with your melted chocolate following the lines.

Place in a refrigerator for 3-5 minutes or until chocolate is completely hardened.  Remove from silpat or parchment paper and carefully place on top of each cupcake.

So pretty right?! Fancy looking cupcakes don’t have to be difficult to make 🙂
