HOW TO VIDEO:
Materials Needed to Make a Paper Loop Christmas Tree
- Two shades of green paper (for the loops)
- 12 x 12 inch background paper (for the tree base- we used a darker blue)
- Small piece of brown paper (for the tree trunk)
- White paint pen (for snow dots and snowflakes)
- Small colorful pom-poms (for ornaments)
- Gold star sticker or cut-out from yellow paper (for the tree topper)
- Glue stick or craft glue

How to Make a Paper Loop Christmas Tree
Step 1: Create the Paper Loops
- Cut green paper into strips about 3-4 inches long and approximately 1 inch wide.
- Fold each strip in half and glue the ends together to form a loop.
- Gently push out the bottom of each loop so they’re slightly rounded rather than flat.
- Create several loops in each shade of green.

Step 2: Prepare the Background and Tree Trunk
- Tear or cut a wavy white piece of paper and glue it to the bottom of the paper to look like snow.
- Attach a small rectangle of brown paper at the bottom of the 12 x 12 inch background paper to form the tree trunk.
- Add a thin layer of snow (optional) around the base for a wintry effect.

Step 3: Build the Tree
- Start at the bottom of the tree, alternating the shades of green for the bottom row.
- Glue 5 loops in a row for the bottom layer, positioning them slightly outward for a 3D effect.
- For the next layer, alternate shades again and glue 4 loops above the bottom row, centered.
- Repeat this pattern, gradually decreasing the number of loops per row: 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.
Step 4: Add Snow and Decorations
- Glue small colorful pom-poms on the loops to represent ornaments.
- Using a white paint pen, add small dots around the tree to resemble snow falling. Draw a few snowflakes for extra detail.
- Finish by placing a gold star sticker or cut-out at the top of the tree.

Crafty Tips
- Two Shades of green” Two similar shades of green create a natural look while adding depth but feel free to make any color tree you would like!
- Loop size: 3-4 inch long paper strips work well, but feel free to adjust based on your preference.
- Pom-Pom Alternative: feel free to use other paint pen colors to draw on ornaments or use a hole punch to cut out various colored circles to glue on. You can even use little sequins!
