- Cardstock (light brown, darker brown, yellow, and white)
- Crayons or markers (brown, black, pink)
- Sharpie
- Scissors
- Glue
How To Make This Handprint Eagle Craft
Step 1: Prepare the templates & cut out shapes
Begin by printing out the template. These will guide you in cutting the correct shapes for your craft.
Trace your child’s hands on the darker brown cardstock and cut them out—these will serve as the eagle’s wings. If desired you can use our free handprint template.
Use the light brown cardstock to cut out the eagle’s body. Once cut, draw scalloped lines on the belly using a brown crayon to create texture. If the brown isn’t distinct enough, overlay with a bit of black crayon for depth.
Step 2: Detailing the Head and Beak
Cut out the head shape from white cardstock and the beak from yellow cardstock. Draw a curved line on the beak to add dimension and glue it behind the head.
For the eyes, draw an upside-down ‘U’ on the head using a Sharpie. If you’re making a female eagle, add lashes to the corners of the eyes and gently shade a soft pink cheek with a pink crayon or colored pencil.
