Stroller Cell Phone Carrier

We are finally enjoying some warmer days here in Pennsylvania and nothing is more exciting and relaxing than having the kids play outside.  Both of my babies are too little to be left alone, so it forces me to get some good ole’ vitamin D as well.   In preparation of the summer season coming  and anticipation of walks in the park, I decided to make a fun stroller cell phone carrier.  I have a bigger stroller that has the basket at the bottom and drink and key compartment at the top but let’s face it…sometimes we would rather grab a small umbrella stroller instead of the big stroller.  I made this carrier to hold my cell phone and a few cards/cash if needed.

Materials:

Fabric

Curtain Grommets

Cut out 2 rectangular pieces that measure 5 1/2 in. x 13 1/2 in out of fabric and one out of batting. ( One piece of fabric will be for the front and the other piece will be the back piece)

Cell Phone Holder

Cut another piece “on the fold” of the fabric that measures 5 1/2  in. x 5 1/2 in.  Top stitch the folded end and lay on top of your top piece

Pouch

Close up Shot

Lay your back piece on top of your front piece right sides ( pretty sides) together.  Lay your batting on top.  Sew around all 4 edges making sure to leave a 3 inch hole for turning.

Inside out

Turn right side out, press with a hot iron and top stitch all four sides.   Follow the instructions on the box of your grommets for steps to finish the project.  Some grommets come with different instructions.  I bought ones that clicked in to each other.  My grommet box  came with a small circle template that I used to trace a circle.  I then cut out the circle and placed the grommets in the hole and clicked together.

  1. It’s cute, but I wish the photo showed how you get it on the stroller! Maybe with an umbrella stroller, you can slip it over the handles, but with other strollers I’m not sure I see how this would work.

    1. I made a button hole on mine and a bit of a longer top and button it onto it I’ve also made other uses of these to hold many different things

  2. I don’t have little ones. I saw this and thought it would be perfect for my rollator! You might change the title to say for stroller/walker. That would draw in the older crowd (I’m only 32, but I’m disabled. I guess I should just say “mobility challenged”. Haha. Thanks for this pattern.

  3. How do you get the grommet onto the stroller handle? Do you have to disassemble the stroller? Super cute idea!

  4. I really love this idea and would have loved it when my kids were tiny (they are older teens now). Thankfully I am blessed with knowing many people who have little ones. I am definately going to be making these up.

  5. thajk you for the tutorial, it wilsl def be making this for myself when the time comes. I could also see this being done for bottles either for parents for for lil one would just change up the measurements some

  6. Hi there!
I found your idea on pinterest. I was looking for a cell phone case idea to clip to my jeans, so I dont have my phone in my pocket!
All I need is one of those large clips and this would do great! I’m going to make me one and make my daughter one for her stroller.

  7. I used that houndstooth for a baby blanket I made for a friend very recently. I can make a matching cell phone holder, lol. Love this idea.

    1. Thanks for stopping by Anne! Sometimes the smaller strollers are just easier! 🙂 Thanks for featuring me!
