Combine sugar and oil in a large bowl, beat until blended.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
Add flavorings and poppy seeds, mix well. Set aside.
In another bowl, combine flour and baking powder. Add to creamed mixture, alternately with milk, until well blended.
Pour into 2 loaf pans.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
Remove from oven, let cool for 5 minutes in the pan.
Combine glaze ingredients; poke a few holes in the top of the bread and pour glaze over breads while still in pans.
Let stand 5 minutes more; remove from pans to cooling rack.
