Author Katie

Ingredients

  • Yarn Bee Comfy Classic - Olive Yarn - Hobby Lobby
  • Frame bought from HOBBY LOBBY
  • Black and White Ribbon
  • Wooden Stem
  • Hot Glue Gun

Instructions

Tassel Instructions

  • Lay a piece of yarn about 10 inches long across your box or object.
  • Wrap your yarn in the opposite direction around the box or object about 20 times. Adjust this as needed to make bushier or thinner tassels.
  • Use the 10-inch piece of yarn to tie the 20 strands together. Cut the strands off the box.
  • Tie another piece of yarn around the top of the tassel to create a gathered bunch.
  • Trim the ends of the tassel to make the pieces of yarn even.

Tassel Tree Instructions

  • Start off by making your tassels. You will need 10 total.
  • Hot glue your tassels to the wooden frame, starting with your bottom row. I placed my stem down to get an idea of where the first layer needed to start and removed it.
  • In the next layer, lay your tassels in between the ones below them to create a layered effect.
  • Once everything is glued down, you can glue down any fly-away yarn if needed. Feel free to trim longer pieces as well.
  • Add a bow or a small star on top of the tree. Glue the stem to the bottom of the tree as well.
