Lay a piece of yarn about 10 inches long across your box or object.
Wrap your yarn in the opposite direction around the box or object about 20 times. Adjust this as needed to make bushier or thinner tassels.
Use the 10-inch piece of yarn to tie the 20 strands together. Cut the strands off the box.
Tie another piece of yarn around the top of the tassel to create a gathered bunch.
Trim the ends of the tassel to make the pieces of yarn even.
Tassel Tree Instructions
Start off by making your tassels. You will need 10 total.
Hot glue your tassels to the wooden frame, starting with your bottom row. I placed my stem down to get an idea of where the first layer needed to start and removed it.
In the next layer, lay your tassels in between the ones below them to create a layered effect.
Once everything is glued down, you can glue down any fly-away yarn if needed. Feel free to trim longer pieces as well.
Add a bow or a small star on top of the tree. Glue the stem to the bottom of the tree as well.
