Ingredients

  • ¼ cup all purpose flour
  • ¾ cup milk
  • pinch of salt
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg optional
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 TBSP sugar
  • 11-13 slices of thick bread, we prefer thicker bread like Sarah Lee Artisano or Brioche

Instructions

  • Mix together all of the above ingredients in a shallow dish such as a pie pan.
  • Dip bread slices into the french toast batter, dredging them well on both sides.
  • Place the soaked bread on a hot greased griddle or frying pan. Once it’s nice and hot, you’ll want to turn it down to medium-low heat.
  • Cook for a few minutes, until the bottom of the bread starts to get golden brown.
  • Flip and cook on the other side the same amount of time. You may need longer for thick slices of bread. Remove and place on a plate.
