Classic French Toast
This delicious classic french toast is a household staple. Top with syrup, some fresh berries, and a sprinkle of powdered sugar for a delicious breakfast!
Servings 13 slices
¼ cup all purpose flour ¾ cup milk pinch of salt 4 eggs 1 tsp ground cinnamon ¼ tsp nutmeg optional 1 tsp vanilla extract 2 TBSP sugar 11-13 slices of thick bread, we prefer thicker bread like Sarah Lee Artisano or Brioche
Mix together all of the above ingredients in a shallow dish such as a pie pan.
Dip bread slices into the french toast batter, dredging them well on both sides.
Place the soaked bread on a hot greased griddle or frying pan. Once it’s nice and hot, you’ll want to turn it down to medium-low heat.
Cook for a few minutes, until the bottom of the bread starts to get golden brown.
Flip and cook on the other side the same amount of time. You may need longer for thick slices of bread. Remove and place on a plate.
