Turkey Pancake Breakfast

Every year since my husband and I have gotten married he will go and play a pick up game of football on Thanksgiving morning. We don’t usually head to my parents house until mid afternoon so it’s the perfect time for him and his buddies to head outside and do what guys do 🙂 Now that we have kids I have tried to make Thanksgiving morning special for my kids while Daddy is gone for a few hours. One of my kids favorite things to do is play in the kitchen creating recipes and making silly faces with their food. This year we will be celebrating Thanksgiving morning with this fun Turkey Pancake Breakfast. It’s simple but still fun for the kids!
First you will want to start with your favorite pancake. Place it on the middle bottom of your plate.
Then you will want to cut up your favorite fruit. I like to use a mix of colors to make the turkey feathers more colorful. Some of our favorite fruits for a turkey pancake breakfast are: strawberries, mandarin oranges and grapes. You can also use raspberries, blackberries, kiwi or bananas. Really any fruit will work. We just placed them in an alternating pattern above the pancake.
Next you will want to take another pancake and cut out a neck shape and lay it on top of your main pancake. We also added some candy eyes but you could swap them out for chocolate chips if you would rather, however; I do think the candy eyes is what really brings out the fun in this turkey pancake breakfast.
Lastly, we added a tiny beak and snood out of our mandarin oranges and strawberries. Drizzle with a bit a maple syrup or honey and you have a delicious breakfast that the kids will love! It’s fun to play with your food every once in awhile right?! 🙂
