Italian Loaf topped with mozzarella cheese, tomatoes and basil makes for a delicious and simple appetizer!
When the day is hot the last thing I want to do is spend hours in the kitchen over a hot stove or grill. I recently tried out a new fun and quick appetizer. This Tomato Mozzarella Loaf is not only delicious but comes together really quickly. I used Tastefully Simples Balsamic and Basil Dipping Oil and it helps take this loaf up a few notches. You can either drizzle it on top of the bread or simply place the dipping oil in a bowl or several small bowls for easy dipping.
I cut up a loaf of french bread but you could also use a sourdough bread or bread of your choosing. I topped it with mozzarella cheese, tomato slices and some spices such as basil and oregano. Pop the loaf in oven or grill for 15 minutes or until cheese is melted and you have yourself a delicious cheesy appetizer!
This recipe is perfect for large gatherings or a small family snack. Just cut up the size french bread you want to use and save the rest for another dish. My husband and I actually ate this for lunch and it easily filled us up.
