Tissue Paper Snowflake Luminaries

These Tissue Paper Snowflake Luminaries are a perfect and simple holiday craft. 

I truly enjoy crafting all year long, but there is something about the holidays that makes me want to craft more.   I don’t know if it’s because growing up I always watching my grandmother and Mom craft more during the holiday season or if it’s just because I love being able to give and receive a homemade gift.  These tissue paper snowflake luminaries are such a fun holiday craft!  They come together really quickly which makes it a perfect holiday party craft or even something you can do with your older kids!  

I love how pretty these little luminaries look when the sun is starting to set!  The sparkles from the Mod Podge Extreme Glitter adds a perfect wintery touch!  Don’t you love how snow glistens? 

SUPPLIES FOR TISSUE PAPER SNOWFLAKE LUMINARIES:

• Mod Podge®, Extreme Glitter
• Snowflake Paper Punch
• Tissue Paper
• Mod Podge, decoupage brushes
• Glass Votives

DIRECTIONS FOR TISSUE PAPER SNOWFLAKE LUMINARIES:

First you will want to punch out your snowflake shapes using your snowflake punch.  I liked to fold my tissue paper over once so I could cut out two snowflakes at a time.  It was also easier to slide in the tissue paper when it was a bit thicker.  Using a small Mod Podge decoupage paint brush, brush on a small amount of your Mod Podge where your tissue paper snowflake will go.  Press down lightly with your finger tip and add another layer of Mod Podge on top.  I also painted it all the way around the glass so the whole glass was sparkly. 

After your snowflake luminaries are dry you can lite a small tea-light or use a flameless candle.  Because we painted on the outside of the glass either type of candle will work just fine. 

I love how you can personalize the look of these luminaries.  You can choose the classic red and green Christmas colors or branch out and do some soft pinks, golds, and blues!   I think a set of these would make a great teachers gift as well!
