Tinker Bell Glitter Slime

As I have mentioned before my daughter is big into fairies, princesses and unicorns.  The first movie she ever sat through and enjoyed was Tinker Bell. She has since seen all the Tinker Bell movies multiple times. They are still some of her favorite movies.  As a little girl myself I always watched Peter Pan for Tink.  She was glittery, sassy and her pixie dust helped people fly 🙂 all things most girls love!  This Tinker Bell Glitter Slime is made with my daughter in mind.  She, along with her brothers, love to play with foam and slime.

Glitter Slime Play

One of my friends, Sarah, from Little Bins for Little Hands is the master of slime making.  She has every formula you can think of and she recently wrote a Ultimate Slime Guide Book that is all about mastering your slime!

If you have some kids around for the summer this might be a great gift to help keep them busy!   I used Sarah’s saline slime solution for this project and it turned out great.  Sparkly, stretchy and soft…just the way fun slime should be!

First, you will want to mix together your white glue, water and baking soda until smooth.  Add green food coloring until it’s your desired color.  I used both a dark and light food coloring until I got it to look like the classic Tinker Bell green.   You can either add your glitter now or wait until the end.

Stretchy Green Slime

Add your contact solution and mix until it starts pulling from the side of the bowl.  This may take a few minutes.  Add more contact solution and knead with your hands until it’s soft and stretchy.  Be careful not to add too much contact solution or the slime will get brittle.

Glitter on Slime

If you haven’t added your glitter yet now is the time.  Sprinkle your various glitter colors all over the slime and knead with your hand until the glitter is fully incorporated.

Drawn Wings on Silver Glitter Foam

To make your Tinker Bell jar use a baby food jar and use it to  draw the correct size fairy wing.  I used the taller baby food jars because I liked the look of them best but any small jar could work!

One you draw one wing use it to draw your remaining wings ( if you are making multiple)  just be sure to mirror your wing for the opposite side so the silver glitter side shows up correctly.

Hot glue your wings to the back of the baby food jar and fill with slime.

These Tinker Bell Glitter Slime jars are perfect for any little pixie dust fairy.  They would be great for birthday party favors and just to have a fun slime filled afternoon.  Place the baby food lid back on the jar for multiple play times.
