Something that always reminds me of fall and Halloween is candy corn! I know some people don’t love the taste, but everyone can love a good candy corn craft even if you don’t like the taste! This easy craft involves a little bit of paint and some sponges, and a handful of other crafty items. Add this sponge-painted candy corn to your list of crafty morning activities, and watch how much fun your kids have. I’ll show you the simple steps below!

Simple Supplies for Sponge Painted Candy Corn

All of the supplies needed for this easy project can be found at your local craft store, Walmart supercenter, or Dollar Store. If you do lots of crafting like me, you may already have these items lying around!

  • White cardstock or construction paper
  • Sponges (cut into thirds)
  • White, orange, and yellow paint (acrylic or craft paint works fine)
  • Mini pink pom poms
  • Large eyes (handmade or googly eyes)
  • Black Sharpie marker
  • Liquid glue or a hot glue gun
  • Free Candy Corn Template

I would also grab some paper plates to put the acrylic paint on. This will help avoid a mess as your kids dip their sponges in the paint.

Supplies

  • White cardstock or construction paper
  • Sponges (cut into thirds)
  • White, orange, and yellow paint (acrylic or craft paint works fine)
  • Mini pink pom poms
  • Large eyes (handmade or googly eyes)
  • Black Sharpie marker
  • Liquid glue or a hot glue gun

Instructions

  • Start by drawing the outline of a piece of candy corn on a piece of white paper using a pencil or use our free printable template!
  • Dip your sponge into yellow paint and lightly dot it on the bottom third of the candy corn.
  • Then, dip another sponge into orange and do the same in the middle of the candy corn.
  • Either leave the top portion white or dip another piece of sponge into white paint and cover the top of the candy corn.
  • Once the candy corn is dry, glue on your eyes and pink pom pom cheeks. Don’t forget the little smile!

Tip: Cut a single sponge into thirds and dip one in the yellow paint, one in the white paint, and the other in the orange paint! You only need one simple sponge to complete this craft!
