Peter Pan & Mr. Smee Halloween Costume

 

  I’m teaming up with Jamie Dorobek and her handmade Halloween costume site, Really Awesome Costumes to bring y’all tons of easy ideas to craft up DIY Halloween costumes for everyone including your pets, family costumes, and even a trick or treat idea!  Last year Jacob wasn’t into  wearing costumes-let’s just say to keep my sanity we opted out for the costumes– so he was a lumberjack last Halloween while my little guy was a crazy scientist.  Now that they are both a bit older I thought it would be so fun to dress them together this year.  My original thought was to do Peter Pan and his shadow but I wanted to have a bit more fun with my little guy and I just couldn’t pass up the moment to have his belly show as Mr. Smee 🙂

For Jacob’s Peter Pan Costume I folded a piece of green fleece in half and cut out a “v “shape on the fold of the fabric.  I then cut out the shape of a shirt using a shirt that he fits in already but made it bigger so I could tie a brown piece of felt around his waist.

I sewed the bottom arm holes closed and both sides.  After I finished sewing, I cut out triangle shapes out of the bottom of the shirt.  I bought green pants from Walmart to go with his shirt and I followed THIS tutorial to make his hat! 

 For Carter’s Mr. Smee costume I bought a white shirt at Walmart and painted pool color stripes on the front.

I made a fun red hat but you could easily buy a red santa hat and just cover the white santa hat poof with red fleece. 🙂
