These little mini PB&J bites are mini, delicious and kid friendly. My oldest son Jacob tends to be a picky eater but when I try to make his food more fun he is willing to try new things. Once you cut sandwiches into mini circles or even shapes they become that much more appealing. Not only do they look cute but it helps your child want to try something new because of the shape but also because mini means less to eat if they don’t like it. Sometimes when I put something new in front of my children it goes much better if I pair it with a favorite food or just put a very small amount without overwhelming them.
Now I know this isn’t a new concept. People cut their sandwiches into shapes all the time but you know what, until last week this was my first time ever doing it! So maybe this will give you a little push to try it for your own kids. My kids favorite part is picking up what kind of cookie cutter they want to use. Don’t be afraid to use a bigger one with a couple smaller ones. You don’t want to waste any of the sandwich.
We have also done this with tuna sandwiches and ham and cheese and have had great success when wanting the kids to try something different. Above all else, this is a simple and delicious treat your kids will love all summer long!
