Disney Parks contacted me about throwing a fun Disney related playdate for my kids and 10 of their closest preschool friends. I immediately started planning this fun playdate and settled on the theme of the classic’s, Mickey and Minnie 🙂 Going to Disney as a young girl is one of my most favorite memories and the center of the memories are Mickey and Minnie. I remember going and seeing them everywhere! My favorite part was seeing their “homes.” I can’t wait for the chance to be able to take my children to Disney Parks someday. I just know they would love it, and I for one could use a little Pixie Dust Happiness 🙂 Until then, we will celebrate our love of Disney at home 🙂
Just about once a month or every other month myself and some of my closest friends get together for our children to have a playdate. This month we decided to expand it and invited a few more friends. The day was centered around play and just having fun. The decorations on the table were simple but colorful! I found these adorable polkadot flowers at the Dollar Tree and they immediately made me think of of Minnie.
Snacks is always a must when hosting a playdate. Busy children have big appetites and making sure they are fed is key to a melt-down free party. 🙂 Along with lunch and healthier options we also had some sweet treats like these Mickey Mouse Cupcakes. The cupcakes are a Funfetti cake mix base with Oreo cookies place on top of some delicious buttercream frosting. The kids LOVED the cupcakes. To go along with the theme of Mickey and Minnie, we also place black circles on either side of the plates to create Mickey Plates.
I had such a fun time making these Mickey and Minnie Favor bags. They were inexpensive and came together really quickly. We used some simple paper bags, found at our local Dollar store and used scrapbooking paper to create the two different bags. The Minnie bow is so cute right?!
Our goodie bags were filled with simple treats for the kids such as: bubbles, bracelets for the girls, playdough, stickers, and everyone went home with a brand new Mickey or Minnie coloring book.
We also made some diy Mickey ears to really get festive with the party. All you need to create your own Mickey or Minnie ears are some plastic headbands, black felt, and pink ribbon.
My boys loved having all of their friends over for a day full of oodles of fun 🙂
One of their favorite activities of the day was coloring in their new coloring books.
Even my daughter had fun doing what all the “big” kids were doing.
