Let your little ones Twirl Away to Mimiloo with this fun and happy Kate & Mim-Mim party!
“Mim-Mim, Funny Bunny Friend…it’s time to come to life again!” this is a phrase I hear on constant repeat lately. Not only does my daughter like this Disney Junior show but so do my two boys. The colors, characters, and lessons learned are all so fun! I had the chance to put together a Kate & Mim-Mim party and I am so excited to show you some ideas that would make for a really fun and budget friendly Kate & Mim-Mim birthday party. This party was complete with treats, toys, and even a Kate & Mim-Mim bingo game! Be sure to print out your Kate and Mim Mim party invitations RIGHT HERE!
When Kate & Mim-Mim travel to Mimiloo they enter a whimsical world full of color and friends. This is exactly the type of party I wanted to host. I wanted it to be a fun colorful place where friends could giggle, play and imagine together.
One of my favorite ways to host and decorate for a themed party is by using some of the “gifts” as decoration. These little Kate & Mim Mim Figurines were a fun addition to the decor. I placed them on different cake stands I had around my home but you could even place them on top of a cake for an easy birthday cake.
I found some inexpensive colored berries and pinwheels at my local Dollar store that added that perfect whimsical touch to the table. Decorations don’t have to cost you an arm and a leg, just keep them simple, colorful and fun! Don’t be afraid to “shop” around your house.
Another inexpensive decoration idea are balloons, streamers and curled ribbon–they add texture and color while being kid friendly!
Of course it’s not a birthday party with some sweets! These Kate & Mim Mim cupcakes were a big hit! The funny bunny cookie ears were just the special touch this party needed! Each guest got a Mim-Mim Cupcake to enjoy. The cupcakes were a basic cake mix cupcake topped with our favorite buttercream frosting. We then free-hand cut out ear shapes out of our favorite sugar cookie recipe. Make sure you cut out the ears while the cookie dough is cold to keep the edges smooth. We then topped the cookies with a purple cookie glaze and allowed them to dry overnight. Then you simply insert the cookie ears into the icing and cupcake right before the party.
Glaze Icing
Ingredients
- 1 lb powdered sugar (approximately 3 3/4 cups)
- 6 Tablespoons milk or water
- 6 Tablespoons light Corn Syrup
- 1 Teaspoon vanilla or almond extract
Instructions
- With a whisk, combine sugar and milk until completely smooth. Stir in corn syrup and extract.
- Place in a cake decorating bag with a #2 tip and pipe around the edges of your bunny ears. Allow to set for a minute or two and then fill your cookie with remaining glaze. Allow to dry overnight. Do not stack on top of each other until fully dry.
We also added some colorful bowls of cotton candy to the table. Again…I tried to make the party as whimsical and colorful as I could 🙂 Popcorn is another great option for parties- a little goes a long way and kids LOVE popcorn!
I also used some of the plush Kate & Mim-Mim toys you can find in your local retail stores as decor for the party. They also acted as items for the kids to play and imagine with.
We had a small basket of plush toys our guests could play with.
If you are hosting a party for some of the older kids I bet they would love this Kate & Mim-Mim Bingo game I made. CLICK HERE TO PRINT THE BINGO CARDS. I made the game for 6 kids to play at one time. At the end of the pdf there is also a KEY that you can use to pick the Bingo cards. We used buttons as decoration for the table and they also served as markers for the spaces the kids needed to fill. You could also use pieces of candy as the markers.
Overall this was a party that my kids just loved! The bright colors, yummy treats, and simple activities is what made this party great! They weren’t overwhelmed by a million things to choose from and just had the chance to play! Do your kids love Kate & Mim-Mim? If you host your own Kate & Mim-Mim party please tag me in your posts! I would love to see them!
