Instant Pot Strawberry Applesauce– a delicious homemade applesauce recipe with a strawberry twist! Throw all your ingredients in an instant pot for a simple and delicious applesauce treat.
Instant Pot Strawberry Applesauce
Growing up my parents would make applesauce almost every year. We had a huge apple tree behind our house and our jobs would be to go pick all the apples and then my parents would begin the process of peeling the apples, cooking the apples, and canning them. The applesauce always turned out delicious but friends, this instant pot strawberry applesauce couldn’t be easier and is just as yummy as the long canning process.
One Pot Recipe
You only need ONE pot to make this delicious applesauce recipe. You can prepare this in a crockpot but the instant pot makes this recipe come together super quickly. You only need a few simple ingredients for this treat you will want to make time and time again.
- apples
- strawberries
- sugar
- water
RECIPE NOTE: When you first remove the applesauce from the pot it will be a bit watery but as it cools down and you mash the berries and apples together it will thicken.
How to make Instant Pot Strawberry Applesauce
- Core and peel apples and slice them. The slices don’t need to be perfect, they will cook down anyway.
- Hull and cut strawberries.
- Add fruit to the inner bowl of your instant pot.
- Pour in water and sugar and mix. Close lid and set to sealing.
- Cook on high pressure for 5 minutes.
- Natural Pressure Release
- Mash with a potato masher or use an immersion blender until desired consistency is met. We like to keep a few chunks in ours.

After making the applesauce how long can you store in the refrigerator? Looks yummy
Tana Hendricks says
Looks delicious! I do not have an instant pot though. How long would I have to cook it using a crock pot or stove top? Thanks!

Made this for my kids, but there is SO MUCH liquid!!! It’s cooled and still super runny😔 what do I do?!
Katie says
Hi Brandi! Sometimes apples can be juicer than others! But the times Ive made it mashing the strawberries and apples together helped absorb a good amount of the water. If you need to thicken it more it I would place the applesauce back in the instant pot on the saute setting( or you can do this on the stove top) and “cook off” or boil off some of the excess water. Then let it cool again! Hope that helps!!
